Raised in the heart of the Midwest, Christopher Lee Damskey spent many summers working on his family’s small dairy farm milking cows, working in fields, and cooking with his grandmother. From an early age, Chris developed his appreciation for locally grown food.
A recent arrival to Hawaii, Chris hails from Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Restaurant Group as Chef de Cuisine at both the Boston and Minneapolis Hotel properties. They showcase local farm to table cuisine with a contemporary flair, Asian accents and French Technique.
Chef Damskey worked his way up through the restaurant world working at many nationally acclaimed restaurants including NoLa, Aquavit, Charlie Trotter’s, Aqua and Restaurant Joel. He received his culinary training at St. Paul Technical College and Scottsdale Culinary Institute.
Chef Damskey is a respected chef with a diverse career in professional kitchens in both luxury hotels and independent restaurants. He has recently joined Alan Wong’s Amasia as Chef de Cuisine.
